This annual 4-day short course (in English language only) is organized in close cooperation with our US partner RBTS. During this international seminar the participants learn the basics and advanced topics on rotor dynamics and the calculation of fluid-film bearings. Several applications are presented in details and also the results of the computations using the ARMD software.

A very successful conference and exhibition was the 45th ASME Turbo Expo – Land, Sea & Air 2000 (Gas Turbine and Aeroengine Technical Congress & Exposition) in Munich, Germany (May 8 –11, 2000). This great conference and show was organized by IGTI (International Gas Turbine Institute). ARLA shared a booth with a coupling manufacturer to present simulation software packages ARMD™ + ITI®-SIM and also ARLA® Engineering (engineering services dedicated to turbomachinery applications in close cooperation with suppliers).

Another national conference held at Haus der Technik in Essen, Germany (November 15-16, 2000) and organized by ARLA was dedicated to automotive applications particularly in the domain of powertrains and engines. The keyword of this conference was "System Analysis" in order to emphasize the importance of the analysis of the superimposed interactions between all elements in the driveline. More details of this successful conference are found on the German web site; a book in German language is available too and can be ordered at "EXPERT-Verlag" (download the order form here).

There are a couple of other international events (like Aachen Colloquium in autumn 1999 - 2003, or SAE and IMechE conferences) where ARLA took place as exhibitor or as attendee.
